Bailey is an owner surrender to GRRNT due to a change in her family's circumstances. She is brand new to GRRNT, and just settling into her foster home. We will have more information about Bailey soon.

PROFILE

Bailey is a very Velcro Golden. She always wants to be petted, and if you are on the floor she's laying on top of you. We are finding her to be a little toy protective or person protective.  She did growl at a canine foster sibling when she had her Nylabone and was “giving” it to her foster dad, so her foster parents are watching that closely and trying to figure out if it's the toy or the person. She did start trying to play with the two dogs in her foster home this weekend, so that is progress!

She has A LOT of energy, so her foster parents recommend a family who can keep up with her activity level. She will need lots of walks and exercise to keep her out of trouble.  She knows basic commands, like sit, down, and stay, but she will benefit from a refresher course and someone who continues to reinforce the commands. She will do them but is sometimes really stubborn about it. Bailey is a big puller on the leash, so she needs some work on that as well.

Bailey may do well as an only dog or with another canine housemate that defers to her.  She's really pushy and pushes the other dogs out of the way for attention. She'd love to have 100% of the attention if given the chance. She attaches to people more than she has to the other dogs. Bailey is looking for her very one forever family to bond with.
