Chanel is an owner surrender to GRRNT due to a change in her family's circumstances. She is just settling into her foster home, and we will have more information about her soon.

PROFILE

Chanel joined GRRNT when her family was moving and could not take her along. Chanel previously lived with other dogs and cats, and is in a foster home with both dogs and cats.

Chanel is similar to a puppy in a 76 pound three year old dogs body. Chanel was born in December 2013, and if we didn't know that we would guess she was younger. Chanel has a problem walking on a regular collar/leash, but walks like a dream when she has a gentle leader on. She is still learning and takes corrections easily, wanting to please her owner. Chanel is still a little unsure about getting in a car, but has come a long way and loves getting a treat every time she goes on a car trip.

Chanel had a really bad habit of jumping on people and for this reason should not go to a home with small children. She is quick to learn and has just about learned that is not something she should be doing, but would we would not want her to knock over a child. Every now and then her puppy exuberance gets the best of her and she forgets not to jump on people, but remembers as soon as she is reminded. She loves her treats and is sometimes looking for them in your hands, even when there is nothing there.

Chanel's only problem with other dogs seems to be when there are balls involved.  She is currently in a foster home with three male Goldens, and had a foster brother recently adopted, and had no issues with toys with any of these dogs. She may just be particular about who she shares toys/balls with and so she may not be a dog that would be good at a dog park.

What does Chanel want in her new family? Chanel would like to have someone home with her during the day.   She is currently crated when her foster mom is not home, which is not very often, and is sleeping loose at night with her foster brothers. Chanel does not get on any furniture, but will put her front feet on a bed to get attention. Overall Chanel is looking for a home where she will be the center of attention and adored, just what every golden wants!!
