Espen is an owner surrender to GRRNT due to a change in his family's circumstances. He is just settling into his foster home and we will know all about him soon.

PROFILE

Espen is a charismatic, loving, intelligent 8-month old puppy who will make an ideal dog for a family that is ready to welcome this Golden boy into his forever home. His is high-energy, curious, playful, spirited boy and just about everything else you'd expect from an 8-month old male Golden Retriever puppy. The definition of a velcro-golden, he wants to be with his people.

Espen may not have had much training as a house dog, but he is learning quickly. In his short time in his foster home he has become an expert at "sit" and is starting to learn "down" and "stay." He's also great at going outside to potty and goes to his crate without complaint to sleep at night, and when the family is out during the day. He loves a good car ride and makes an excellent companion when running errands or going to the park. He'll play fetch like a champ as long as someone’s willing to keep throwing ball. He’s very adaptable and just wants to be with his people. He has even gone to cross-fit with his foster mom, the crowds and noise didn’t bother him a bit. He was just happy to be there.

He's still learning what he can and can't chew on, but is doing much better after only one week. He is also a good playmate for the other Goldens in the house, but at times doesn't quite realize when they're done playing. But he is quickly learning to listen when they say enough.

Espen would be a great dog for a family with other young dogs that like to play, and for families that have older kids. Espen's play style is a little too rough for young children at this point, although that's certain to change as he receives more training and gets a little older. His sweet personality and handsome looks make him an irresistible choice for the right family. He is an affectionate and loving boy with his foster family, and we know he will share that same wonderful companionship with his forever family.
