Mollie was part of a litter of puppies that were born to a GRRNT Golden Retriever female in March 2014. She was recently returned to GRRNT due to a change in her family's circumstances. Mollie is a pretty brindle, smooth coated dog, but she really is half Golden Retriever.

PROFILE

Say what??  That looks like a Boxer, not a Golden!  Molli is a 3-year-old girl whose mother was a Golden and her father was a one night stand with a Boxer (we think).  She does not have the golden look but her coat is a beautiful orange and black tiger stripe.  Once you look in her soft, brown eyes, that’s it, she has you hooked.

Molli is close to the perfect dog – she potties outside, loves to go for walks and walks right beside her human, knows sit, and never barks, jumps, counter surfs, or borrows the furniture for her bed. She is a quiet, low energy girl who just likes to be wherever her human is.  Her previous owner indicated she was crate trained but she does not like going in her crate, even with a kong or treats.  She has been very good when left alone in the house and sleeps right by the bed at night. She also didn't have any reaction to the thunder and lightning recently, she slept calmly by the bed on the floor. She lived in a house with a doggie door and used it but when she wants to go outside, she lets me know by whining at the door.  She is also great with cats, ignoring them and acknowledging that they are the masters of the house.

Molli takes a while to warm up to new people, situations, or other dogs. She will need a family that lets her get used to things on her own terms.  She would be ok in a house by herself or possibly with another laid back dog. Small children would scare her so she would be best with older children who understand her needs. She has had some allergies in the past (although not currently) and is eating a limited ingredient dog food and takes 2 Zyrtec with peanut butter before going to bed (she loves peanut butter!).

Molli will be making her debut at the meet n greet on March 4. Come meet this sweet girl.
