Zena was picked up as a stray by local animal control. She is just settling into her foster home. So far foster mom reports Zena has shown no bad habits, and she is very sweet and easy. Her foster family will be able to tell us more about her soon.
Zena is a super sweet girl who gets along with dogs of all sizes, cats and people. She is a little shy at first but then soon warms up, and now that she's getting comfortable in her foster home she is getting sassy! She has just started playing with toys and loves collecting them. She played with a tennis ball this week for the first time. She also likes to chew on elk antlers. Zena sleeps all night long without making a peep….and sometimes actually has be woken up in the morning to go out. Sleeps on a dog bed in the bedroom and has never needed to be crated. She has never had an accident in the house, and she is not destructive when left home alone with the other 2 dogs. She's a very good girl. She is SO excited when her people come home and is happy to see you when you've been away.
She LOVES belly rubs! She also loves to get on the sofa. Dogs aren't usually allowed on the furniture, but she is just too darn cute, it's hard to deny her! She loves to go outside and barks happily at the squirrels in the yard.
Zena is such a sweet, easy girl. She will be looking for her very own family in early June, after she completes heartworm treatment.

Miss Zena has finished her heartworm and is ready to find her forever family!

Zena had her final heartworm treatment on Friday, May 12 and she is home resting. She was such a good girl during her treatment and became a favorite at the vet clinic. Zena will continue to recover and be ready for her new home around the middle of June. She will be best in a home with another dog or with someone home with her at least part of the day (or both!). She likes to have her human near her and likes to play with other medium energy dogs. She is also great with cats, leaving them alone except for an occasional sniff (what are these things?). She loves cat food though, and will help herself to the leftovers if no one is watching. This girl will wind you around her paw with her adorable underbite and cute smile - you can’t say no to her. She walks great on a leash and rides in the car quietly. Zena takes a little while to warm up to strangers but once she decides they are ok, she is Velcro dog.
