Benjamin came to GRRNT due to a change in his family's circumstances. He is just settling into his foster home now, and we will know more about him soon.

PROFILE

Benjamin is a big, goofy, high energy lover of everyone, everything, and every toy. He would be fine with kids age 8 and up, not because he's anything but sweet, but he has no idea of his size. He is very active, very smart, and very toy driven. Everything is a toy, especially plastic water bottles, which he will leap up and take right out of your hands.

If you wanted to describe Benjamin with one word, it would be “exuberant”. If someone is looking for a dog to work, to run with them, to play some pretty intense fetch, this is the one. He lived only outside and in a crate for most of his life. He is just now learning house manners, so his new family will want to keep working with him on those. He doesn't realize his size, he will sometimes launch his whole self onto his foster’s lap to grab things like the tissue box. So he needs to work on some personal space boundaries!

He loves other dogs and really enjoys playing with them.  If he is getting enough attention and time from his humans he could be just as content as an only dog. He plays rambunctiously with other dogs though, and can sometimes bowl over his little terrier housemate when they play. He is getting better about that though, and they love to play tug. He is, however, incredibly gentle with the blind, older Golden in his foster home, and will often sit and lick his eyes. He is a really good boy, but just due to his activity level it would be best if he didn’t have small, delicate canine siblings, or preschool age or younger kids in his family. He has met the family cats and really wants to play with them, but that play is exhibited by chasing for fun, so he will need to be supervised with kitty siblings until he settles down around them. He doesn’t have to have a canine playmate as long as he is getting lots of interaction with his human family.

Benjamin is a complete angel, a sponge and will soak up all the lover you offer. He wants to be right next to you at all times like most Goldens. He likes to lay right on your feet when you cook so he doesn’t miss anything! Benjamin really needs an active family that will play with him, keep him busy, and include him in all the family activities.
