Brady is an owner surrender to GRRNT. He is settling into his foster home and we will know more about him soon.

PROFILE

Brady’s foster family cannot believe that he is 13 years old.  He acts like he’s about 10 years old.  He is playful, spunky, and full of life. Brady has been with his foster family for 5 days and has settled in well with his 2 senior foster siblings. He is house trained, enjoys walks, and LOVES to eat.  Brady is selective in terms of when he follows his humans. If they are in the kitchen or going outside, Brady is very attentive and not far behind. Brady’s favorite pastime is eating. He doesn’t want to miss a meal so when his foster parents are in the kitchen, he is very close by. He eats near his foster siblings and has no food aggression.

Brady enjoys the outdoors and is content laying the grass soaking in the sun. When he comes across one of the several tennis balls in the yard, he proudly picks it up and trots to the door to come inside. When he sees the leashes, he is quick to his feet and is ready to go for his walk. He loves smelling and exploring with his 2 foster siblings. Brady is not good with cats though, so he can not have feline siblings in his home.

Other than eating and going for walks, Brady likes to take naps.  When he is in a deep sleep, it takes a lot to wake him up. Brady is a great sleeper at night. He takes care of business before his foster parents go to bed then he is good until morning to potty.  He is such a trooper when it comes to ear cleaning and eye medication. He is so patient with his foster mom and let’s her do whatever she needs to in order to keep him in tip top shape.

Brady’s tail is always wagging. He is a very happy boy and soaks up all of the love and pets he gets. Despite his senior age, he has a lot to offer and would make a family very happy. In 5 short days he’s already made a lasting impression on his foster family. Please consider opening your heart and home to Brady, old gold is true treasure.

UPDATE

5/12/2018 Brady had his follow up appointment with the vet today.  He had a great check up! His ear infection and eye infection have been cleared. Brady did great on his car ride to and from the vet.  He is learning how to use the stairs to get in and out of the car.  He is food motivated so having treats on hand is helpful. In addition to his love of food and walks, Brady loves playing with tennis balls.  He acts like a puppy when he plays with the ball.  You can’t help but smile when watching him swat at the ball with his large paws.

Brady had a few days last week when he was home alone with his foster siblings for most of the day.  His foster mom periodically checked the cameras throughout the day and always saw Brady napping.  When his foster parents arrive home, Brady greets them with a wagging tail and excitement. Brady has taken a cue from one of his foster siblings and is on high alert for squirrels when outside and on walks. He is very interested in those furry creatures and thinks they want him to chase them.
Despite only being at his foster home for 2 weeks, it feels longer because of how well adjusted he is.
