Gibbs was found as a stray by an individual who attempted to locate his owner, but when they were not successful they asked GRRNT to help find him a new home. He is just now settling into his foster home, and we will know more about him once his foster family gets to know him. Gibbs will be neutered soon and will be ready for adoption in a few weeks.

PROFILE

Gibbs is a big, blond, bombshell. He is a sweet boy who loves being with his people. He gets along well with other dogs, and enjoys playing in the yard. He also has a great time entertaining himself throwing toys around and catching them again. He likes to play in the water and would probably enjoy swimming if given the opportunity. Gibbs has shown too much interest in cats so he should not have a feline housemate in his home. He will be fine in a home with other friendly dogs, or equally as happy as the only dog and will enjoy being the center of attention.

Gibbs is pretty good on a leash and listens well if he moves to the end of the leash and you call him back. He knows a few basic commands like sit and down, but is much more motivated to cooperate when treats are the incentive. Gibbs either already knew how to use a dog door or learned it very quickly because he was going in and out on the first day in his foster home. He loads easily in the car and rides calmly.  Gibbs is crate trained and will go in the crate for a treat, but he would really prefer not to be crated. He has had a few accidents in the house, but we aren't sure if that was marking or if he may not be 100% house trained. That is a work in progress and his new family will need to continue to work on it so he becomes reliably house trained.

This big beautiful boy will be a joy to someone's family. Gibbs is ready to find his very own forever family.

UPDATE

2/21/2018 Gibbs was neutered today, and will be ready to make his debut at the next meet n greet on 3/3.
