Guvner was originally adopted from GRRNT in 2012. He was returned to the rescue recently after his owner passed away. Guvner is a very tall, solid built, handsome, big boy. He is good with other dogs, and loves people. Guvner is settling into his foster home and we will have more information about him soon.

PROFILE

This big beautiful boy loves attention and getting petted by his humans. He is a gentle giant standing at nearly 33” at the shoulders and weighing 115 lbs. He loves people and is great with other dogs. We have a nearly 2 yr old Golden that loves to wrestle with him outside and he is very tolerant and loving of him. We have not had him around any cats so we’re not sure how he is with them. He has been great around the house and doesn’t get into anything he shouldn’t like the trash or counter surfing. We believe that he was trained to not get on furniture and he won’t unless asked which he seems to love since he is by his humans. Did I mention that he LOVES human attention and interaction? We have crated him and he does great, going in and staying with no issues. We don’t crate him at night and he likes to sleep on the floor by the bed. He knows all his basic commands like sit, stay, come, down, lay, shake and rollover. He loves having his belly rubbed and head petted. He would actually let you pet him all day long. He has been great on a leash and only pulls a little when he’s excited. He loves to be brushed and going to the groomer. He loves to go on rides and did great on a three hour road trip over the holidays. He did great meeting new people and especially loved the kids. He will be great with a family with kids or people looking for a good companion dog. Due to his size he might not be the best fit with older people. He is really gentle but can be very strong. Guvner is ready to find his forever family!

UPDATE

Just to give you an idea of how big this gorgeous boy is, the darker Golden Retriever in this picture is an average sized male. Guvner makes him look like a puppy!
