PROFILE

Zuzu is a beautiful,  Golden 70 lb. girl with luminous golden eyes, and typically happy-go-lucky personality around people. She will be best in a family with older or no kids because she is so strong, and someone who is home at least part of the day. Zuzu is a busy girl, always on the move and ready for action.

Zuzu is house-trained and crate trained.  She likes her crate and will go in on her own with a few treats and a Kong with treats and peanut butter.  She needs to be crated if she is home alone, as she will damage window shutters and pillows.  She is happiest if there is a human nearby and will follow them from room to room.  She will make sure you never have to go to the bathroom by yourself again – Zuzu will be your furry shadow.

Zuzu loves her toys, especially squeaky balls.  She will chase the ball outside and then play keep away instead of dropping it for another toss. Zuzu has been living with two cats at her foster home and gets along with them, although she wishes they would play ball with her.  She loves their food and their poop, both are equally tasty to her.  If her new home has cats, having a separate place to feed the cats and maintain their litter will be needed.

Zuzu initially was not good with other dogs, but recently has improved her doggy social skills and is getting along better with her canine foster siblings. Although, she still wants to be top dog in the home, and probably will be best as the only dog. She doesn't like to share her food or toys with the other dogs. Because of this, she won’t be a good candidate to take to dog parks, doggie parties, or shopping at PetSmart or anywhere where there might be dogs.

She likes laying on the couch while her foster watches TV or sitting on the porch when the weather was cooler.  She is getting used to being brushed, and after trying to chew on the brush will settle down and enjoy it. She loves food and will do anything for a treat. She is not food aggressive or a resource guarder towards people, and she doesn’t pester people while they eat.

Zuzu has a pretty high prey drive and would love to run after the rabbits she sees on walks. She can pull hard on the leash at those times, but is getting better on her walks. She knows obedience commands, but really needs a refresher course or more training to be consistent.

Zuzu is looking for someone that is experienced with bigger dogs and is willing to continue her training, give her direction, and an outlet for her enthusiasm. She has a lot to give her new forever family!
