Daisy was an owner surrender to GRRNT. She was a very sick little girl and needed emergency spay surgery for a uterine infection. She is recovering in her foster home and getting lots of TLC. She also has heartworms, and will need to undergo treatment once she is well enough. Daisy will not be ready for adoption for a couple of months. Please check back on her progress.
Daisy is the “text book definition” of a Golden. She LOVES to be loved, ALL day, every day. She wants nothing more than to be by your side and be petted. She has mastered the “golden nudge” to her full potential.
She is a seven year old owner surrender to GRRNT. She is a survivor. She came to us with sepsis from a life threatening uterine infection, without emergency surgery she would not have survived. Thankfully, surgery was successful and she has fully recovered. Unfortunately, she is also heart worm positive, and will start her treatment the beginning of March.
She has shown no interest in our pool, which is a good thing since she is not allowed to swim during heart worm treatment. She grabs a toy every once in a while, but again, we aren’t allowed to encourage play time due to her treatment. We aren’t sure how she does on walks since it is not allowed right now, but she is a great listener and is very manageable so we believe she will be a nice walking partner. She LOVES to go on car rides. She rides with foster mom to drop off/pick up my kids from school.
She has a healthy appetite. We are told she is a master at counter surfing so we are watching her closely (her foster family’s dogs are bad counter surfers too). She takes her medicine like a champ and patiently waits for her food bowl.
Daisy is a smart girl. She figured out the doggie door within minutes of being in her foster home. She is trained to sit, lay down and shake. She is crate trained, but does not need a crate at night. She sleeps on the floor in the master bedroom, right next to the bed. Also, she has shown no anxiety towards thunder storms.
Daisy does great with other dogs and kids. We are also told by her past owners that she does well with cats, too. We envision her in a family with other dogs, but she could be the only dog as long as she has human company throughout the day. Sweet Daisy will be ready to find her forever family once she completes heartworm treatment. Check back in April for her progress.
3/8/2018 Daisy had her first stage of heartworm treatment today. She will go back to the vet in a month for the second stage. Daisy should be ready for adoption in mid May.
