Asa - #08-109
Male - 2 years

The price for this guy's personality is FURNITURE ACCESS. Don't fight it. It’s a small price to pay for this tremendous dog.

Asa is a young, energetic male who has fit well into his role out on a ranch with 4 other dominant dogs. In fact, he’s held his own quite well, playing with everyone. Almost immediately, he earned everyone's affection by being the tending doctor of the group, homing in on a senior golden oldie recovering from surgery, and he has shown the same concern with the other younger dogs as well.

While he has plenty of room to run, Asa spends his early mornings out in the dog yard to take care of his business. He's somewhat shy with his personal dealings, and definitely prefers to be off his leash. When on leash, though, he is a perfect gentleman, and is easy to walk and lead. Best of all, he is not a jumper or digger, and the 4 ft. "dog yard" fence has been more than enough for him.

Of course, like most goldens, he loves his toys (especially that all-important soggy old tennis ball), and has an all-too-keen interest in swimming in the pool. He's not a graceful swimmer by any means, instead always concentrating on "saving" his foster Dad. He's also good around a water hose, and which bodes well when it is time for regular baths.

He enjoys rides in the car, and loads and unloads very easily. He does love to stick his head out the (narrow) window, but is good about staying in the back seat when foster Dad is opening and closing gates (without coming unglued because he’s left the car).

In the house, he has a good appetite, and is not a counter cruiser or trash inspector. He has a very soft mouth when it comes to meals, and even knows not only how to sit, but also how to shake hands with both paws. He has been known to shred trashy cheap magazines or dime store novels when left alone in the bedroom, and instead prefers the company of the other dogs to satisfy his "group mentality" needs while foster Dad is gone.

His foster Dad hasn't broken him of his habit of jumping up for hugs yet, so small children might be bowled over by his enthusiasm.

In short, he's a slam dunk. Asa is as good as they come, and would be a seamless fit in almost any home - that allows furniture access!.
