Dante - #08-130
Male - 9 years
Dante is a cool old guy, with a beautiful white face and thick, curly coat. Everyone who meets him falls in love instantly. He is deaf and has arthritis, but this doesn’t seem to bother him much – he swims and gets around just fine, and medication will help his arthritis even more.
At one time, he obviously had a family who loved him and cared for him, as he was neutered, heartworm negative etc. But after he was picked up by animal control, he was in shock and depressed by the less than stellar living arrangements. When the GRRNT volunteer arrived to pick him, up he danced around and grabbed the leash out of her hand and off they went!
He is a very sweet guy who always wants to keep his human in sight. His foster mom says: “He sleeps right next to the bed so that he can keep tabs on me. If I get away from him he looks all over the house until he sees me again – and then things are cool. When I am cleaning house, he follows me everywhere, as if he is inspecting my work. He’s not anxious, as if I was leaving or anything – he just wants to be in the know!”
He is very calm and friendly to everyone. At the dog park, he has to get a pet from everyone and the other dogs don’t faze him – he just looks around and checks things out. When he is excited he does a little Texas Two Step – he bounces back and forth on his front feet – and grins a lot! He’s also quite a chow hound…
Dante’s ideal home would be someone who is home all day – just for him to be with. This old boy has a lot of life and love left to give a VERY deserving family.
