Homer - #08-124
Male - 1 year
Homer, along with possible littermate Hank, was picked up as a stray by Animal
Control in west Texas. Fortunately for them, some loving volunteers brought
them to GRRNT – and it was a good thing they did. Both boys were VERY thin when
they came to us. Like most 1-year-old puppies, they are full of energy and burn
off pounds quickly, so we’re still struggling to keep enough weight on them.
This should become easier over time, as they settle into their forever homes
and get a little older.
Homer has great dark brown eyes, a sweet, sweet personality and a goofy, happy
grin! He is social with other dogs, but he should not be in a family with small
children, as he can unintentionally knock them down with his puppy exuberance.
Homer does like to jump up for attention, but his foster family is working on
“off” a lot.
Like any puppy, Homer will need a family who will take the time to train him.
Regular exercise will be extra important, too, to make sure he gets to burn off
all that puppy energy.
Foster Mom says: "Homer is bouncing with energy, makes friends easily and has
absolutely the sweetest disposition. He’s getting quite a bit calmer, and will
be easily treat-trained. Bottom line is – we love him."
We bet you’ll love Homer, too!
