Jubilee - #08-075
Female - 1 year
Jubilee is about 15 months old and was found as a stray in Plano. When she came into GRRNT, she was a mess – heartworm positive, torn/damaged ACL’s in her knees, underweight, infested with fleas and ticks, and terrified of everyone and everything. She has made great progress over the past few months; she’s finished her heartworm treatment, has gained some weight (but will always be small) and the pesky little fleas and ticks are gone. Her knees are healing, but she will never be able to exercise much.
She is a very quiet and sweet girl, and curious about new things in her foster home. She does well with her foster brother (a yellow lab) and ignores the cats, but has not yet learned to play with toys or her foster siblings. She will sniff the toys and sometimes carry one to her bed, but will sit and watch her siblings play.
She is still very timid and is afraid of loud noises, quick movements and new situations. She is possessive of her bed and doesn’t want anyone else on it. She does not appear to be as possessive with her food, but does require some supervision during meals. If her foster mom moves away from her, she will follow instead of eating. She has thunderstorm anxiety but is not destructive during those times.
She has not yet learned to tell her foster mom when she needs to go outside, but she does adhere to a routine or schedule very well. Jubilee does well on a leash but becomes anxious if there are lots of people, cars or other dogs around her. She has been working so hard on getting better and coming out of her shell that so far there hasn’t been time to work on basic commands, but she does not jump on the furniture or on people.
Jubilee should not be in a home with children or in a hectic, noisy household - she needs home that is relatively quiet and laid back, but she would love the company of another dog.
All little Jubilee wants is a forever home with people who will show her patience and love. After all she’s been through, she deserves nothing less!
