Marci - #08-145
Female - 8 years
Just look at that face!!! Words do not do justice to the wonderful personality
this playful 8-year-old has. She was rescued after she had been relegated to a
life outdoors. She had fleas, heartworms, and had lost a lot of fur, but when
her GRRNT foster family went to pick her up, they were greeted with kisses and
total cooperation by a loving and lively dog.
Marci loves to roam the yard and go for walks. She is very playful and
will try to play at every opportunity. She will drop a ball at your feet or
place a chew toy behind your back (if you are sitting too far forward), just to
get your attention. Most of the time, she just carries her toys (and
occasionally socks) around as comfort objects, even occasionally falling asleep
with one in her mouth.
Marci is perfectly housetrained and knows sit and shake. She understands “no”,
but will give you the saddest look you have ever seen. She is curious about
everything, which leads to her one bad habit: she counter surfs. Her foster
family is working to break her of this habit, but her forever family should be
aware of this tendency.
Marci is a petite girl, weighing in at 55 lbs. so she doesn’t have the
bull-in-the-china-closet effect that some dogs do. When you call her name, she
immediately and very happily prances over to you, seizing the opportunity to be
loved. Even if you don’t call her, she will still seize that opportunity.
Because she is so loving, the best home for Marci would be a home where she
could be doted on. A family where someone is retired or stays home during the
day would be ideal, not because she can’t be trusted alone, but because it
would surely have a negative effect on her to be alone all day. Other dogs
would be fine, but are not necessary as Marci prefers the company of people.
So if you are looking for an extremely loving, spunky girl who is
low-maintenance, calm, curious, and ready to play, Marci’s waiting for you!
