Sam - #08-160
Male - 3 years
Sam is just a sweetie. He’s a 3 year old Golden with a big, square head, who
loves everyone he meets – dog, cat or human. Sam’s human Mom passed away
suddenly and since then, he has been bounced around quite a bit. He definitely
needs a place where he can settle back into a forever family routine.
Sam is very well-mannered and is always gentle and calm. He is completely house
trained and loves to be outside – playing or lying in the sun. His foster has a
doggie door and although Sam can go through it, he always waits for permission.
When he’s ready to come back in, he barks and his foster Mom says, “Come on in,
Sam” and he walks right through. He knows all the basic commands and loves to
play chase with a toy.
Sam has some very sweet traits. He loves his “blankie” and in the evening,
he’ll drag it into the room where everyone is watching TV. Then when it’s
bedtime, he drags it with him to his foster Mom and Dad’s room, where he
quietly sleeps on the floor. He also loves to greet you with a toy, so if
someone he knows comes to the door, he quickly goes and retrieves a toy and
brings it to them, just in case they are up for a quick game of fetch.
Sam lets kids climb all over him, but his closest friend at the moment is the 4
lb. poodle next door that he plays very sweetly with. He loves to go on walks
and exploring outdoors, but is also content to just lie in the room with his
foster family, enjoying, of course, a good petting.
Sam needs a stable family who won’t move him around any more, who will play
with him and give him those long, loving belly rubs he likes so much. Sam would
prefer a home where someone is home with him during the day. Another dog would
be great, but is not a requirement.
Sam is a constant, easy-going companion who will fit easily into almost any
home. Can you find it in your heart to fit Sam into yours?
