Little Miss Delta has a heart of gold and is looking for a family to cuddle with her daily! She is just 4 years old but is a gentle soul who prefers calm over crazy, mellow strolls through the neighborhood, and stuffed animals.

When Delta arrived, the GRRNT vets suspected she had food allergies. Their suspicions were correct; she is allergic to several indoor and outdoor things. Delta requires immunotherapy (allergy shots) and thyroid medication. She is also on a special diet of duck and potato. We have a list of the other foods and treats that Delta is not allergic to. She may or may not need to continue the allergy shots for a while, we’ll know more after this round is completed and she visits the vet again.

Already, her coat is beginning to shine and her feet don’t seem to be quite so itchy. This poor girl has also had chronic ear infections which have left her with large growths in both ears. GRRNT vets did surgery on one ear, hoping to be able to clear a path for medicine but it did not totally fix the situation. The next option was to do a more dramatic surgery. They have since gone in and removed the ear canal and the ear drum and closed up both ears. This has helped her tremendously but she was still itching pretty badly.

Delta would do best with a family that is looking for a low-key, sweet little girl. She enjoys her foster siblings but would be OK as an only dog if her family spends a lot of time with her. Her foster cat sibling likes to taunt her but rather then retaliate, Delta finds someone else to play with, usually a golden sibling. Retrieving is not really her thing, but she loves to carry around stuffed animals or her foster mom’s clothes. Don’t worry, she doesn’t chew them, she simply likes to hold them.
