Thunder is a 7-year-old guy who is eager to provide companionship at a relaxed pace. He bonded with his foster dad very quickly, happily following him around the house or joining him in a nap. He is very gentle and loving and does not demand much attention or exercise. But his eyes do light up when he sees his leash. He loves to go outside for a walk and he also loves riding in the truck.

Although he’s not demanding at all, Thunder does need some training and supervision. He is housebroken, but not crate trained at all… that’s something his forever family will have to work on (or forgo). He is a counter surfer, so he’ll need to be watched in the kitchen. He knows he is not supposed to get on the furniture, but will get up on the couch when no one’s home. All of these behaviors can be addressed once he’s in a permanent home.

Thunder's biggest problem right now is his ears. He has had serious ear infections in the past and his ears will require some vigilance and probably some medication for maintenance. He doesn’t like having his ears treated (probably because it hurts), but with a little practice and patience, he should get used to it.

Because he’s sort of set in his ways, Thunder would be happiest as an only pet. His ideal family will have the time to work with him on his few issues and to overcome his aversion to ear cleaning. With a little effort and a lot of love, Thunder will be a mellow, happy companion who just wants to be at your side.
