Zhen is an adorable 6 year-old boy whose owner surrendered him as he was being deployed to Iraq . Zhen came to GRRNT with both knees needing repair. Fortunately, GRRNT is committed to helping every dog we can, even when it can be very difficult for the foster family and expensive for the organization.

But if you ask his foster family, they’ll tell you Zhen is definitely worth the effort: “Zhen is such SWEET boy and a great family dog; he’s very patient with the children and loves to be with them. He is loyal beyond belief and an excellent watch dog. He will just look at you with his big brown eyes and you can't help but stop doing what you were doing to pet him.”

Zhen is also good with other dogs and gets along fantastically with his foster sibling, another Golden. He loves going for his daily walks, too.

The surgery on his first knee has already happened and he is getting ready to have surgery on the second knee shortly. He s expected to do very well although he’ll need to take a joint supplement from now on (just a once-a-day pill which is chewable and he loves it).

Zhen should be ready completely healthy and ready for adoption by mid to late March.
