April - #10-028
Female - 1 year
April is a pretty, petite young girl with an abundance of energy who was found wandering on a country road.
We’re guessing that she was an outside dog who didn’t get much human attention or training. She seems to know how to sit and shake and will come when called, but she has a few things to work on. She’s had a few accidents in the house and has a tendency to jump up on people, because that’s the only way she knows how to get attention. And like most puppies, if you leave her unattended, she has a tendency to get into trouble. But her foster mom says “she’s very attentive and actively working on becoming the perfect dog!”
She’s pretty fearless, not shy or timid, and loves meeting new people and exploring. She also loves being brushed, hugged and petted. For the most part, she’ll follow you around the house to see what you are up to, but sometimes will go off exploring. She enjoys playing in the yard, chasing after balls (look out, she’s quick!), and just plain checking out her surroundings. If you want to tire her out, just take her out back and throw the ball around the yard - she can’t help but retrieve it.
April needs a home with hands on parents who will give this young girl the attention she needs and who will continue her training. The ideal family will be very active (possibly with teenagers) and have the time and patience to work with a young dog. April says: “I would love for my new family to be home to play with me as much as possible! And I promise I’ll work really hard to learn all the rules…”
If you want a young dog to grow up along with your family, April is your girl!
