Gracie - #10-078
Female - 7 years
Gracie is a petite blonde with a lovely smile. But she wasn't that cute or happy when she came into the rescue.
Gracie was owned by a family that fed and sheltered her, but she had little contact with people and no contact with the world outside her back yard. Needless to say, when she was released to GRRNT, she was terrified.
It has taken a month to get her socialized, but she’s come a long way in that time. At first she didn't know what a leash was and would bolt when she hit the end of it; now she walks happily and confidently. She is still spooked by loud noises or quick movements…that skittishness may never quite go away. She is crate trained, housebroken, rides well in the car and would be fine with cats.
Gracie would do best in an adult home with older children that are aware of her little quirks. She also needs to be placed in a home with another dog, who is a confident leader, as she has gained confidence being in her foster home with other dogs.
To say Gracie is sweet is an understatement. She will be your devoted friend if you are by her side to take her the rest of the way on her journey to being a confident Golden.
