Lexie - #10-079
Female - 3 years
Lexie was given as a Christmas present to a small child who adored her, but house rules required that Lexie be left outside. That was tough enough (we all know that Goldens just want to be with their people!), but when the family moved to a new house, it was determined that Lexie could not go along because they didn't want her in the new yard. So, she was left in the yard at her old house alone, with someone bringing food to her occasionally, but with no other human contact.
When released to GRRNT, she had not had shots or heartworm preventive for at least a year, and of course, she does have heartworms. In spite of all that neglect, Lexie is a happy, loving, spirited angel of a dog, and as you can see, she is very beautiful.
Lexie has quickly learned to use the doggie door and except for a couple of accidents as she adjusted to life inside, she has demonstrated responsible house manners. She also likes car trips and walks well on the leash.
Lexie’s medical regimen has begun, and we estimate that she will be ready for her forever home around Labor Day. It’s time this lovely young girl gets a real family who will let her into their home - and their hearts.
