Sparky - #10-067
Male - 3 years

Mr. Sparky (aka “Mr. Sparkoman”), was certainly not giving off any sparks when he was surrendered to a local animal shelter this June. He was very ill with heartworms and eye infections, malnourished to the point of starvation, and suffering anxiety issues when he was released to foster care.

At first, Sparky was very quiet and sedate, content to sleep most of the day. His foster sisters quickly interfered with his naps and slowly he began to participate with the family and show his true personality. Since his heart worm therapy has been completed, his personality and behavior have changed dramatically – he now loves to chase toys, pounce on them, and bring them inside. He has also gained 10 much-needed pounds. Sparky also has hip dysplasia, but he has already had one hip operated on and seems to be okay at this time.

Mr. Sparky loves to make nests with his foster parents’ clothes and shoes, adding any toy he can find. He is not destructive, but he needs to have lots of "smell reassurance". Sparky has thunder storm anxiety, and he requires medication in the event of storms. Don’t worry - he will notify you of impending thunderstorms. Sparky has lost several teeth because he was left outside during bad weather, so he requires an at home parent. Mr. Sparky is completely potty trained.

Sparky is a beautiful Golden Boy who has overcome a lot of physical issues…he’s happy and healthy now, and he deserves the best of homes. He does require an at home parent, and would be happiest with another big dog.

If you’re looking for a constant companion who will give you years and years of love, Sparky will bring his own brand of electricity to your life.
