Arrow - #11-120
Male - 3 years
Arrow is a young male golden who prior to being surrendered to GRRNT, spent his entire life in the company of one family. We suspect that a series of events have led him to become extremely fearful of men. To ensure his peace of mind, it has been determined that he will be need to be the lone dog in a “ladies only” home.
Arrow fancies himself a lap dog - fortunately, at a mere 52 pounds he is the perfect size cuddle buddy. He has a sweet temperament, craves attention and would love to be your personal “bed warmer”. Although he is content to sleep at the foot of the bed, Arrow will try to wiggle up towards your pillow and get as close as you will allow.
It appears that he is a somewhat anxious dog. Arrow takes two anti-anxiety medications and will probably remain on them throughout his life. He is most at ease when he has the undivided attention of his preferred human.
Interestingly, his foster mom has discovered that while not willing to share his person with other dogs, Arrow actually enjoys playing with other dogs. He is a perfect guest and enthusiastic playmate at doggie day care.
He has good leash manners so daily walks are a delight for his foster mom. Arrow does great out and about but continues to display apprehension around males. He loves kids but gets anxious when foster mom seeks to pay attention to the children instead of to him.
Arrow will benefit from a woman who is able to be the loving voice of authority and leadership in this two member pack. (NO CATS please) If you are looking for the unconditional love that only a dog can provide, than perhaps Arrow is the best friend you’ve been hoping to find.
