Booher was an owner surrender due to a change in circumstances. He is a large dog, but is currently 20 + lbs overweight and will need to stay on a diet until he is down to a healthy weight. He is settling into his foster home, and we will have more information about him soon.

PROFILE

Booher is a big hunk of Golden love with dark brown eyes, a thick, curly coat and size 13 doggie feet! He could qualify as a contestant on The Biggest Loser but has embraced his new diet and exercise regimen and will soon be ready for the Golden calendar centerfold.

This Golden boy is a very polite, well-mannered gentleman leaving the furniture to others, sitting politely for his food, and bringing a toy to share when anyone comes in the house. He has discovered he loves going for walks and will wiggle his entire back end (which is sizeable and breakable objects should be moved) when he hears “walk.”  Although he is strong, he is very well behaved on a leash and enjoys meeting and greeting the neighborhood dogs and their humans.

Booher loves his stuffed toys and in typical Golden fashion will carry them around in his mouth.  He doesn’t tear them apart or try to liberate the squeaker but seems to treat them as his friends. Tennis balls are also a favorite and he will make a half-hearted attempt to chase them when thrown.  He may enjoy this more as he becomes lighter on his feet.  He loves lying on the floor near his human or will follow from room to room to help with chores, if needed.

Booher would like his new family to be available for walks two or three times daily to continue his healthy habits.  Booher has to be only dog in the family, he does not share his toys with other dogs, and best with older kids since he is so big (and a little clumsy). He is good with cats, leaving them alone to do important cat stuff.

Booher is house trained and has not had an accident in the house, even when left alone all day.  He is crate trained but does not particularly like the crate.  He is allowed in the main portion of the house when he is home alone and naps on the cool tile most of the time.  He sleeps on a dog bed on the floor near his human at night and will occasionally snore but sleeps like a log. He is happy riding in the back seat of the car wherever his human is going.  If you are looking for a Golden teddy bear, this guy is for you.
