PROFILE

Demi was born in October 2014, and is a typical young dog. She loves to run around the backyard and really would like to have another dog chase her around. She likes to take her blanket out of her crate and carry it around with her. Loud noises tend to scare her a little while she is in the house, but don’t seem to bother her when she is outside. She walks nicely on a leash most of time, but does tend to pull some, and will pull hard when she sees another dog walking towards her. She thinks every dog is her friend and really wants to go see them. She doesn't really understand dog language, and will go steal toys from her canine foster siblings. While her foster brothers don't mind her pulling toys out of their mouths, that’s not something all dogs will allow. She gets along with the residents cats, but when they run she will chase them. She just wants to play with them. Demi is still learning to use the dog door, and she is getting much better about going out the door without being coaxed.

Demi is completely house trained. She has not attempted to counter surf at all, and she doesn’t get on the furniture. She would like to get on the bed at night and gets her front half up, but doesn't seem to have back end awareness and hasn't figured out how to get her butt up there! She didn’t eat much the first few days in her foster home, but she is eating now and seems to eat more readily at her evening meal. Her previous owner said she had stomach issues, but they were resolved every time they took her off Blue Buffalo dog food. They would go back to feeding her that same food once the problem cleared up, only to have issues again. She is doing fine on the food her foster mom is giving her, so we think the problem really was the type of food she was eating. She is currently about 78 pounds and could stand to lose some weight.

Demi is looking for a forever family who will give her the love, attention, and training she needs so she can blossom into a confident family companion. Come meet her and see if you are her perfect family.
