Holden was picked up as a stray by animal control. He is a big handsome boy, who loves his people, however, he is not a fan of sharing food, toys, or treats with other dogs, and should not be in a home with cats or children. Holden would like to be center of attention. He is looking for a home where he will be the one and only "child".

PROFILE

Holden is 7 and might be best described as a gentle giant. Despite weighing 89 lbs., he could stand to pack on a few more as you can readily feel his ribs. He is tall enough to rest his chin on the dining table.

Evidently Holden was extensively trained in his former life. He is completely house-trained. He responds to basic commands. He seems so proud of his “sit”, and will stay there awaiting your next command. Seemingly every day brings discovery of a new command or trick he can accomplish. Holden loves to go for walks. He will drop into a heel and travel at a slack-leash pace. When confronting people along the walk, he will wait patiently for them to pass. He appears to bind quickly with his humans, and loves to have his sides rubbed. He wants to be included in what you are doing, but is also content to just simply lay at your feet.

Holden has exhibited some reluctance to share food or toys with other dogs, and therefore would be best suited to be in a house where he is the only dog. His demeanor around small children remains untested, so a house with older or even no children might be more appropriate.
