Nala was released to GRRNT due to a change in her owner's circumstances. She is new to GRRNT and we will have more information about her soon.

PROFILE

Nala is a 5 year old pretty Golden who was an owner surrender to GRRNT due to a change in her owner’s circumstances. When she first arrived in her foster home, she was a little anxious and paced around the house for awhile. Instead of settling on one of the many dog beds available, she chose to lay on the floor next to the back door. She showed no interest in the dog toys that were available, but once she discovered the tennis balls she immediately wanted to play. Nala loves to fetch and will bring the ball back to continue the game.  If Nala suspects that you've forgotten that you're in the middle of a game of fetch she'll pick up the ball and drop it by your side several times to remind you to throw it.

Nala enjoys going for walks and is good on the leash. She is housetrained and has not misbehaved or gotten into something off limits. Nala knows the sit and down command and will take treats gently from your hand. She behaves well when her foster parents are at the table eating and will usually nap in other room or laydown under the table.

In the last few days Nala has become more comfortable in her new environment. Nala's foster home has 2 other dogs. Although Nala is friendly and wags her tail when she sees another dog during a walk, she avoids contact and is indifferent to both dogs in the house. She has shown increased interest in the toy box, and has a few additional favorites now other than the tennis balls. Nala can be possessive with her toys and a few times let out a low growl when one of her foster siblings has approached a toy. Her foster mom is working with Nala on correcting this behavior.

Nala has discovered the dog beds strewn throughout the house are comfortable, and is beginning to spend nap time on a bed rather than on the floor in front of the door. She is attached to her humans and when you return to the house after being gone Nala will promptly greet you at the door with tennis balls in her mouth as she squeals with excitement to see you.

Nala is a wonderful girl who will make a great companion. While she gets along with other dogs fine, she doesn’t need the companionship of other dogs, and will relish being the center of attention in a home as the only dog. A basket of tennis balls, and a forever family to play with her with them will make this pretty girl very happy!
