Stone was turned over to GRRNT due to a change in his owner's circumstances. He is 15 months old, and a very happy puppy.
I have only been in my foster home for a few days, but I think it is great. I love to go on walks so much that I get to go on two 1.5 mile walks a day, one in the morning and the same in the evening. My foster mom always says, “A tired puppy is a happy puppy”, and plus the vet said I needed to lose about 5 pounds. My previous owners thought I was hyper, but my foster mom says I am just a typical, active, Golden puppy. She says I need lots of attention just like a human toddler, and exercise, and I am easy to take care of. My foster mom also says my name shouldn’t be Stone, it should be Velcro. I have attached myself to my human and follow her everywhere. I mean everywhere.
I love to play with my toys, swim in the pool and cuddle. I walk really well on the leash until I see a squirrel. I’m very interested in the squirrels and really think I can catch one if foster mom would just let me run faster. I’m fully house trained and have figured out the doggie door. My foster family did try me in the crate for less than an hour one day, but I didn’t like it at all. I have proved that I am a good boy, and I will just lay around with my canine foster siblings and nap when the family leaves to run errands. I jump up on the bed with my humans to watch TV at night, but when my foster dad comes to bed he makes me get down and sleep on the floor. I am an early riser, no need to sleep in if I don’t have to.
I’m not very interested in food. I know it’s a bit odd for a golden. My humans try to feed me twice a day with my foster siblings, but I like to take my time and I’m not always hungry when it’s offered to me. I’m trying hard to adjust to my new feeding schedule. My foster mom thinks I got to graze when I lived with my other humans.
I do great with kids of all ages. I’m learning to play with my 13 and 11 year old humans, and I sit nice for all the little humans I’ve met on my walks and at the baseball fields. My foster family doesn’t have any cats, so I don’t know how I will like them. I get along with my foster sibling dogs, but I’m not attached to them so I don’t have to have a canine sibling in my new home.
I’m not super high maintenance, but I am a puppy and I do like to play, and I need exercise and walks every day. I get tired after my walk and come home to nap. Once I am all rested I like to play fetch. I am really good at fetching the ball, but I don’t always give the ball back. It’s more fun to play keep away when you try to take it from me! After about 30 minutes of play time, I’ll rest again while my human gets some work done.
My perfect home would be with a family who can take me with them when they leave, or is home a lot during the day so I get lots of attention. I like kids to play with, and enjoy swimming too! I’m just a happy puppy who needs a family to love, and I’m hoping to find them soon!
