PROFILE

Bolt is a big, happy puppy. He is house trained and crate trained. He gets along with other dogs and is good with cats. He wants to be where is people are and will let you know he doesn’t want to be left outside alone. He loves to play ball, and has been known to fall asleep with one his mouth. He is active, and playful, and will do well with an active family who will find outlets for his energy. Bolt needs some basic training, and right now pulls on the leash when he is walked. He is a big, strong boy at 75 lbs, and needs leash training to make walking him easier. The fun part is he is very trainable, although the ball is his motivator rather than treats. Bolt would make a great running partner or hiking partner, and would love to be in the center of things whatever you are doing.

Bolt is an absolutely wonderful dog. He is such a pleaser and a great family dog. He does great with kids and adults alike. He is a big boy that sometimes needs to be reminded to stay on all fours, so small children may be overwhelmed. He loves to carry around any toy he can find and keeps himself occupied during the day. He likes to play with other dogs but could possibly be an only dog, too. He knows several commands including “sit" and “kennel” when it’s time for his foster mom to leave. He sleeps next to the bed, although he is still leashed because he likes to check on you and see if it’s time to wake up. When gently told to get down and go back to bed he will. He gets SO excited to see you no matter if you have been gone for a minute or several hours. He even smiles sometimes and will show you his teeth! He loves to swim and could do it all day. He appreciates having a dog door and learned it quickly. He likes to be able to come and go and not be afraid of being left outside like he was in his previous life. Bolt is getting better about going on walks although he still pulls a great deal. A gentle leader or a no pull harness would be ideal until he gets the hang of things.

His foster mom would like to see him go to a home where someone is there during the day more often than not. Bolt would thrive with attention and training, and someone who has the time to give him both. He is incredibly loving and likes to cuddle, sit with you on the couch, and play ball and tug of war. Bolt is a wonderful guy!
