DONATE FOR RED
Last night, we received an urgent plea from Dallas90 (the community outreach group for DAS) because they had a golden puppy who tested positive for parvo and was in bad shape. Rhonda rushed down to get him and take him to VEG. We contacted VEG and they were ready for him. He had a very high temp that they were finally able to get to break overnight. AT that point, he was slightly more stable so they were able to begin feeding him intranasally. (newer research has shown that the sooner we can start to get nutrients in him, the better chance he has to have the strength to fight)
His blood pressure has remained scarily low despite medications. Late this morning we started a plasma transfusion. He continues to have a guarded prognosis. One positive is that he was able to lift his head a little and wag his tail a few times when they went in to check on him. When Rhonda brought him in, he could barely lift his head at all.
At this point, we have spent $6,000 and are looking at between $8-10,000.
