Chardonay was an owner surrender to GRRNT. She is just settling into her foster home, and we will know all about her soon.

PROFILE

Chardonnay is a 7-year-old who was owner surrendered due to a change in circumstances. You would never know she is 7-years-old if it weren't for her sugar face and some white in her coat. Her energy level is more like a much younger dog. She is a super Velcro-type dog with people and wants to be the center of attention. With Chardonnay, it’s all about her people.

Chardonnay is a healthy girl, spayed and a little underweight. She is a smaller, happy, sweet, lovable girl who really doesn't seem to care much about other dogs. She is a little timid when meeting new people but warms up quickly. Chardonnay gets along well with other dogs; however, she will push them to the side and wants to be the dog to get attention. She is a more dominant female and would love to be the alpha of her foster's pack. It took a couple of weeks before she even tried to start playing with her foster's dogs and she's trying to learn not to be rough when she's playing. We don't know if she ever knew how to play with other dogs prior to coming to GRRNT. We also don’t know what she would be like around cats. She does really well with children.

Chardonnay likes to chew on bones and really likes to tug with her human on tug toys. Chardonnay has the run of our house and can be wherever she likes — but she always chooses not only the room you are in but the square footage right next to you. She tends to want to be underfoot, all the time, and the kitchen seems to be a favorite spot since someone is always in there. She is house trained and crate trained. She would love to be on the furniture and will try to crawl in a human's lap when they are sitting in a chair. She does have a little storm anxiety that is easily managed and will sometimes wince when someone moves towards her too quickly.

Chardonnay absolutely LOVES going on walks! She may pull with a leash attached to her collar or on a slip lead, but she walks wonderfully with a harness. When she encounters people and other dogs, she is well-behaved. Chardonnay apparently doesn’t have much experience in cars, and is nervous while riding. Unless and until she becomes accustomed to being in vehicles, she would probably not be a good road trip partner.

Chardonnay's dream home would be as an only dog with someone who is home all day so she may follow him/her around from room to room. A family with small children is not recommended due to her energy level being so high.

All Chardonnay wants is a forever home with someone that will love and play with her.
