PROFILE

Hello my name is Vic, at least that is what my foster family calls me. My foster family is helping me get well, I had a little cough I caught at the shelter and my ears were hurting. My foster family has 3 four-legged friends in addition to the people. I get along great with my two sisters, a lab and a German shepherd. I am less comfortable with my little brother that is a golden retriever mix like me. I show him my teeth and he shows me his. Mom thinks we both want to be the man of the family, but she doesn’t like it when we growl at each other.

Mom says I am a sweet big boy, she pets me a lot, I love pets, I will follow my people anywhere for a pet, and will try to climb up in their lap if they will cuddle me.

Mom wants me to tell you that I am potty-trained, zero accidents. (That is just ridiculous – I am a good big boy. What is she thinking?) Also she says I do ok in the crate (but I try to avoid that), and I am good in a pen too (I could knock it over, but I am a good boy, so I don’t). I have shown the family I can be trusted and when the doctor gives us the all clear I am ready to sleep on a nice fluffy dog bed like my sisters and brother have.

Don’t tell anyone - but I like to steal my sister’s toys. They have lots of toys and sharing is good, right? I am talking about my dog sisters, I am smart enough to stay away from the things that belong to the people in the house. I like to run in the back yard. I don’t like to stay out too long, I would rather be in the house with my people.

I know what “sit” and “down” mean, but sometimes I have trouble remembering for very long, but I am sure I can get it down if I have patient people to help me. I like to walk on the leash – mom says I am strong and I should not try to pull her along – but I think she just needs to walk faster – I just know there are exciting things we need to see.

Mom says I have beautiful eyes and has promised she will take care of me until she can find me a permanent family to love. I do like it here with this family, but I wish for my own.

**Victor does have heartworms and will need to go through treatment, he will be ready for adoption around early March.
