PROFILE
Miss Victoria loves to be pet and is a true Golden as she never lets you leave a room alone. She is very loving and good natured and needs a home where she can get lots of attention and have her own person. She loves to just stand by you while you constantly pet her. Which leads us to the only bad (if you want to call it bad) habit her foster has noticed so far, she’ll nose flip your hand to get you to pet her some more. She has a mind of her own and loves to go in the car. She doesn’t show a lot of interest in toys but has chewed on a bone.
Victoria would be fine as an only dog and she is good with other dogs but does not need their company. There were no problems at all introducing her to her foster’s herd of three (3). Instant acceptance was had on all sides.
Victoria is a very sweet girl who has Cushing’s Disease. This causes a stress response throughout her body. She will always have to have her medication but she is responding well and getting better every day. She came to GRRNT with several issues but she is improving every day.
Her foster found out that she loves swimming. In fact she will drag the pool cleaner out of the pool as it is in her way. She also objected to the wall scrubber and would fetch and drag it out of the pool. This is good as we can get in some water therapy to help strengthen her legs which have some muscle loss due to the disease.
Victoria is totally housebroken and has learned to use the doggie door. She has a little trouble as we haven’t built up the muscles yet, but she makes it work. In time, Victoria will gain her strength, get her coat back and be a wonderful companion.
