Planning a trip out of town but not sure what to do with your GRRNT alumni? Don’t want to send him or her to a kennel? Let a GRRNT volunteer watch your furry friend(s) while you’re away!
For a donation to GRRNT of $25 per night, per dog, GRRNT offers our former adopters a pet-sitting opportunity so you know your pup will be in good hands while you’re gone. Plus, the money goes towards helping other GRRNT Goldens get the medical care they need before going to their forever home.
(GRRNT Members and GRRNT Foster to Adopt puppies and dogs receive a $5 discount per day, per dog. ) GRRNT Pet Sitting is focused on GRRNT alumni and canine siblings, whether GRRNT alumni or not.
1. As soon as you know you are going to be out of town, please complete the Pet Sitting Request form.
Please submit your request with as much lead time as possible, at least 2 weeks prior to your travel date if at all possible. We may not be able to accommodate short notice requests.
2. Then email us a copy of your dog’s current vaccination record (required documentation Bordotella required every 6 months, a fecal test within the last 12 months, and current rabies vaccination) to PetSitting@goldenretrievers.org
It can take a little bit of time for us to find an open dog sitter and holidays fill up fast. Once a volunteer has been found, you will be put in touch with him or her so you can talk and coordinate the details before you head out of town.
3. Lastly, you must fill out the pet sitting agreement and bring it, along with payment, to the volunteer’s home before going out of town.
